Maisonel
Maisonel is the newest name on our occasion rails and already one of the most searched for. Launched in 2024 by James Ellis of Studio Ellis, the London label sculpts occasion wear in heavyweight satins and crepes, with 3D florals and handkerchief hems that read modern rather than traditional.
The pedigree explains the polish. Ellis is a fourth-generation designer whose family house also makes John Charles, and Maisonel is his younger, more sculptural answer: day-to-evening shapes in latte, meadow and terracotta, dresses and top-and-skirt sets that move between a wedding and a smart dinner.
Maisonel sells through boutiques, and The Queen B carries one of its Welsh rails. Book a styling appointment in Penarth to try the satins on, and see the sister label John Charles in the same fitting room if the occasion calls for more embellishment.
