Micha
Micha clothing is Danish, and it has been since 1932. The label builds its collections around knitwear and easy outerwear, which is most of what we carry in Penarth. Capes, teddy coats, quilted gilets and soft jumpers with a bit of detail on them. Sizes run 8 to 16.
We took Micha on for the layers. Autumn dressing in South Wales mostly comes down to what you put over the top, and Micha builds that end of the wardrobe properly. Faux fur capes, teddy coats, quilted gilets. Pieces that go over a plain top and do the work themselves.
The knitwear is the other half of it. Micha jumpers tend to carry one idea rather than none: sequins down a sleeve, a run of flowers at the shoulder, a contrast trim at the cuff and hem. Plain enough for a Tuesday, with enough going on to carry a simple pair of trousers.
Micha has been designing in Denmark since 1932. The collections are drawn up there and sold through independent shops rather than the high street, which is why it is not a label you see everywhere.
Most of the Micha rail is one size cut to fit 8 to 16, so it is worth trying on rather than guessing. We are in Penarth, a few minutes from Cardiff, and the range is online too.
